We might not have to do this as the minimum screen auto-off time is higher than the delay between the screen turning on and the callscreen being hidden.

I investigated this while working on bug 1068104. The screen times out on its own after 10 seconds while viewing the lock screen. If you're not on the lock screen, the minimum setting is 1 minute. I think it's safe to avoid doing this. I don't think it's worth adding the extra machinery needed for it, both in terms of dev cost and complexity, when there's no evidence that it'll help us.
