CCing Stormy for direction approval. Stormy - does the instruction above sound appropriate to you for our presence at GDC Next/ADC? Thanks.

As we discussed, let's try two cards, not event branded. One for Flame: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Developer_phone_guide/Flame (We can make a short url for this.) One for Developer Tools.

Just to confirm, these are going to be generic cards, not event-specific? And we only the two mentioned in comment 2, not all of them? For the Flame and Developer Tools cards: Are there existing cards for either Flame or Developer Tools? If so, please provide the links to the previous bug(s). If these are new cards, can you provide some direction for the copy that should go on the back? And yes, we will need a short URL for the Flame. Thanks.

(In reply to Jennifer Balaco from comment #3) > Just to confirm, these are going to be generic cards, not event-specific? > And we only the two mentioned in comment 2, not all of them? > Hi Jen - yes, during my and Stormy's conversation Friday, these will be generic, and therefore reusable and not needing updating for every event. > For the Flame and Developer Tools cards: > Are there existing cards for either Flame or Developer Tools? - None for the Flame, there is the MDN one for Dev Tools. If so, please > provide the links to the previous bug(s). If these are new cards, can you > provide some direction for the copy that should go on the back? And yes, we > will need a short URL for the Flame. My input, based on the latest card design as a sample (found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/db6hfm8l6jr6huu/BrazilJS_MDN_CTACard_PRINT.pdf?dl=0 ) and moving from front to back, top to bottom: - Flame card, front: -- Keep Tabzilla -- Main body should feature blueprint style fox (instead of product logo, so as not to be confused with Firefox cards) -- Remove "BrazilJS" logo - Flame card, back: -- Use horizontal FirefoxOS logo and wordmark lockup -- Suggested copy (modified from what's featured on the Firefox OS Introduction page at https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Introduction): "Firefox OS is an open source mobile operating system based on Linux, open web standards and Mozilla's Gecko technology that provides a reinvention of what mobile platforms can be." -- "Learn more at [URL]" should be replaced with "Order your Flame developer reference device here: [URL]" - Dev Tools card, front: -- Keep Tabzilla -- Currently has MDN logo on front, though I've heard Dev Tools has a new logo? Not sure if it's been approved. If it has, replace with Dev Tools logo. If it has not been approved, leave MDN logo on front. -- Remove "BrazilJS" logo - Dev Tools card, back: -- Update wordmark/logo lockup with new Dev Tools logo/wordmark, if it's been approved. If not, leave as MDN. -- Leave copy and URL. > Thanks. Thank you, Jen. NI'ing Stormy for her ok with my suggestions.

Sounds good to me. Luke, can you give us a short url for https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Developer_phone_guide/Flame ? This is to go on a card passed out at events to people that want to buy a Flame.

Updates after my conversation with Jennifer Balaco and John Slater today: > My input, based on the latest card design as a sample (found here: > https://www.dropbox.com/s/db6hfm8l6jr6huu/BrazilJS_MDN_CTACard_PRINT. > pdf?dl=0 ) and moving from front to back, top to bottom: > > - Flame card, front: > -- Keep Tabzilla > -- Main body should feature blueprint style fox (instead of product logo, so > as not to be confused with Firefox cards) > -- Remove "BrazilJS" logo > > - Flame card, back: > -- Use horizontal FirefoxOS logo and wordmark lockup > -- Suggested copy (modified from what's featured on the Firefox OS > Introduction page at > https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Introduction): > "Firefox OS is an open source mobile operating system based on Linux, open > web standards and Mozilla's Gecko technology that provides a reinvention of > what mobile platforms can be." > -- "Learn more at [URL]" should be replaced with "Order your Flame developer > reference device here: [URL]" - This is the URL that Stormy has NI'd Luke Crouch for. > > - Dev Tools card, front: -- Remove "BrazilJS" logo <- only change needed > > - Dev Tools card, back: -- No changes needed. Matt Ternoway has the most recent files for this project. Thanks all!

Robyn or Stormy - how about mzl.la/gdc-flame ?

It should be generic, so not gdc specific. I think we already used mzl.la/buyflame but if we could re-purpose it to this page, that would be great.

We can't re-purpose short urls. :( Last push for event-specific url ... Generic URLs for OSCON and BrazilJS made it very hard to filter out the signal of event campaign effectiveness from the noise of overall MDN traffic. An event-specific url gives us event-specific measurements of the effectiveness of the event's outreach.

I'm ok with an event-specific url especially if the design is not event specific if Robyn and Jen are. It just means we'll have to redo the card for each event but it'll just be the url and printing.

Assigning design over to Matt. I know it's not ideal, but from the Creative Team's perspective a generic url is a bit easier, as there isn't a touch required for these at every single event.

Okay, then I propose mzl.la/flame as the generic short url that goes to: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Developer_phone_guide/Flame Stormy - sound good?

Sounds good. (Although we only have 2 more big events that we'd really like to measure impact at in particular so there wouldn't be that many more touch points.)

Done. mzl.la/flame now goes to https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Developer_phone_guide/Flame

Hi guys - I can't see anything at the cl.ly link, it says nothing exists there. Can you post an updated version please? Also, John, Stormy, can you approve once the link is posted?
