Sounds like there are still details to be worked out, but my biggest questions would be where this will go and how it will be used. Thanks.

Here is an update from the design bug (bug 1079433): There are going to be copy needs. Design is being implemented by the Android UX team. That being said, here is the ask. The Android team is creating an add-on that centralizes all privacy related features in one easy to manage place on the browser. The purpose of the add-on is to *educate* the user about what key privacy features mean and *provide a quick path to manage them*. To answer John Slater's question, "why are we doing this?" * we believe privacy is top of mind for users but not actively managed * we think the user isn't fully aware of the benefits of privacy features * we think digging for privacy features in the browser causes friction * Privacy Coach is a PR tactic to raise awareness of Fennec in the context of Anniversary campaign We would like to get some help refining copy to do the following: * Get the details right on privacy. Are we saying the right thing * Add a little "renewal" campaign language in the intro. The copy should mention our commitment to privacy and why it's important for users to know their options * Match the Firefox voice Google doc with features and FPO copy: https://docs.google.com/a/mozilla.com/document/d/1gzWpee_zaCfHyZRn2iMotZ09A3qS8oLyZ0U2tNFHXz0/edit Link to Privacy Coach landing page: chrome://privacycoach/content/welcome.xhtml

Hey Troy - L10N really needs this by this Friday, 10/24 and I know you've started. Does that seem doable? Thanks! Lizz

Arcadio, I just noticed that the Google doc only covers the welcome page for the Privacy Coach add-on, but do you want to control the messaging in the "Learn more..." banners that the add-on adds to the home page? The add-on will choose one of these at random every time you start your browser. In case you do want to include this in your work, here is the text that we're currently using for these banners, with links to the URLs they point to: # https://support.mozilla.org/kb/clear-your-browsing-history-and-other-personal-dat Learn the different ways you can clear personal data stored in Firefox. # https://support.mozilla.org/kb/create-secure-passwords-keep-your-identity-safe Learn how to create secure, easy-to-remember passwords to keep your identity safe on the internet. # https://support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-health-report-understand-your-android-browser-perf Learn how Firefox Health Report lets you know how well your browser is performing and what steps you can take to improve it. # https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-does-insecure-content-affect-safety-android Learn how Firefox for Android automatically blocks insecure or mixed content from secure web pages. # https://support.mozilla.org/kb/share-your-android-device-firefox-guest-session Learn how to create a Guest Session to let someone else use Firefox without giving them access to your personal information. # https://support.mozilla.org/kb/mobile-private-browsing-browse-web-without-saving-syncing-info Learn how to create private tabs to browse the internet without saving any information about what pages you've visited.

Any chance I could get a link to the current copy? I'd like to review today if possible, given string-freeze is tomorrow.

Hi Jenn I'll have my edits posted for review this afternoon. Should I just add my copy changes to the current doc (link: https://docs.google.com/a/mozilla.com/document/d/1gzWpee_zaCfHyZRn2iMotZ09A3qS8oLyZ0U2tNFHXz0/edit)or is it better if I create a new one? Thanks, Troy

Hi Troy, one more thing. Could you please have a look at Margaret's banner text above, just to be safe?

Troy, Create your own doc. You, Matej and I will review first pass and then share with the rest of team. Better to keep it more streamlined in the first round. Magaret: those messages are great and I wasn't fully aware of them. Are these separate from the mobile snippet channe? Also, what's the logic. The add-on serves these messages until the user has interacted with all of them? Then it stops showing them or are they going to been seen in perpetuity? arcadio

Sounds good. I'll be sure to keep in mind the comments / edits that have already been made in the original doc. (In reply to alainez from comment #13) > Troy, > > Create your own doc. (In reply to alainez from comment #13) > Magaret: those messages are great and I wasn't fully aware of them. Are > these separate from the mobile snippet channe? Yes, these are separate from the snippet channel, so they will only appear for users who have this add-on installed. The icon that appears with them is the privacy coach icon Robin designed. > Also, what's the logic. The add-on serves these messages until the user has > interacted with all of them? Then it stops showing them or are they going to > been seen in perpetuity? Right now it just adds a different one per app run, but it does not keep track of which ones the user has interacted with to permanently dismiss them. I think that sounds like a good idea, I can add that behavior.
