See attached gif. I think all panes in the side panel should always be visible, particularly because we are introducing an api to add new panes, see firebug.next for an example of the 'DOM' pane.

Indeed the fact that not all tabs are visible is a problem, but I do not agree that setting a bigger min-width is the right solution. I've had feedback in the past where users wanted to resize the panel as wide or narrow as they wanted. I have an old patch [1] somewhere that makes the tab area get an ellipsis menu as soon as not all tabs are visible. Seeing how old it is, it won't apply cleanly and we might as well recreate it from scratch, but I think that's the right solution to the problem. Yep, agree with Patrick. There should be scrolling buttons (based on <arrowscrollbox> if implemented in XUL). See Firebug screenshot...

Now there's "all tabs" dropmarker in sidebar. I couldn't find the bug which implemented it.
