Description:
When the user taps on an install app(soundcloud,youtube,facebook) that belongs in the marketplace from the rocketbar, the marketplace screen will flicker

Setup Steps:
1) Flame device is set to 319mb

Repro Steps:
1) Update a Flame device to BuildID: 20140924000243
2) Go to the rocketbar
3) Type any app the belongs in the marketplace(soundcloud,youtube,facebook,etc)
4) Tap 'install...' app


Actual:
Marketplace screen flickers

Expected:
Marketplace screen does not flicker

I suspect this is a platform bug. It does not reproduce on 2.0 but it does on 2.1, despite being the same Marketplace app. And webapps are usually incapable of causing this sort of flickering alone.

Sorry, I've been transferred to the media team and probably won't have much time to look at this.

If someone can get the layer dumps from the compositor during the flicking I can take a look.

Backing this out is an option too, it was just a performance improvement.

On further analysis, I am not sure this is the right suspect here given https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1085223 was on m-c ~3 weeks back and is not in the 2.1 codebase. Anything I am missing here?

Could we retry reproducing this or finding the right regressing bug here?

Pete - we are having trouble getting this to repro - I notice you reported this on v188 base, can you recheck this on v188-1 base.

This may have been fixed via newer firmware. Thanks

I wasn't able to repro this bug at all on the reported 2.1 build on v188-1 base, but WAS able to repro this bug on reported 2.1 build on v188 base, and the repro rate was much lower - 1 in 10 attempts (only repro'ed on first attempt).

Given QA(:piwei, Joshua_M) are unable to repro and I tried to install a couple of apps on today's gecko/gaia with v188 but was unable to see the flickering either, I am removing the nomination on this bug.
