The webapp runtime in Firefox on gnu/Linux installs applications as hidden folder in users home directory

~/.8tracks-f22e3be53d3428e762d4a5d1dd7a8219/
~/.soundcloud-d21f62f259975e0060fe60362ea7b823/

It would good to use standard linux desktop directory store the webapps inside $HOME/.local/share directory.
I think there isn't a standard directory for software installations. What directory were you thinking about?
You are right there isn't a standard directory for software installation. Perhaps we could install all open web apps under ~/.mozilla-owp/ directory instead. It makes it easier to manage the installed web.

Maybe .mozilla/openwebapps ? I suppose a patch implementing this should also take care of migrating existing apps to the new target dir ?
Per bug 1238079, we're going to disable the desktop web runtime and remove it
from the codebase, so we won't fix these bugs in the integration between Firefox and the runtime.
