1092633 - Firefox 33.0 CPU goes up to 40% when watching movies (regression comparing to rv32)

After one of the recent upgrade (I believe it was about v32) Firefox started to consume more than 40% CPU when watching embedded movie so other programs could not work smoothly.

1. Install fresh Firefox v33 and remove old profiles (just to be sure than this is fresh installation)
2. Visit http://www.tvn24.pl/wideo/z-anteny/czy-polska-wyda-polanskiego,1356494.html?playlist_id=17824 and observe CPU. Refresh page if problem does not happen for the first time

I tried to switch off all plugins, hardware acceleration and JavaScript but that is not the source of the problem. Problem happens when video is attached to the site or it is playing.

Selecting developer Tools:memory as component can only be a mistake....

The page is using flash to play the videos and I get only around 5% CPU useage of Firefox (32 and trunk)
The additional Flash process consumes a little bit more with around 15% CPU.

Firefox.exe , plugin-container.exe or the additional flash-player.exe ?
Which Flash plugin version do you use ?

When the page is loading Firefox consumes at least 30%, when the page is loaded Flash consumes up to 30%. However the music from external player has problem with playing when the page is loading what means that the cause of the problem is in Firefox.

When I disable Flash extension then page is not loaded but the problem with CPU remains.

Flash version: 15.0.0.189 x32

I was looking for the solution for this problem and based on what Google says I'm not the only one who has discovered this regression in recent builds. Since I have quite fast notebook it might be some collision with graphical card or something like that?

I tried ti switch off hardware acceleration but it changes nothing.

Hi Damian,

I have tested your issue on latest Firefox release (43.0.3) and latest Nightly (46.0a1) and I could not reproduce it. I have loaded the page using flash and the CPU usage is about 5-10%, Same results if I load the page without flash plugin disabled.

Can you please test this on the latest Firefox release (43.0.3) or latest Nightly (46.0a1, https://nightly.mozilla.org/) and tell me if this still reproduces for you ? When doing this please use a new fresh Firefox profile, maybe also in safe mode (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems). 
A lot of things changed from Firefox 33.0 and also the flash plugin received several updates. Your issue could have been fixed along the way.
