Actual results:

Why did you eliminate the automatic, simultaneous spell-checking, while composing a message. Previously, we had three choices: Language#1, Language#2, Language#1/Language#2. Nowadays, Thunderbird has eliminated the third choice, something highly inconvenient, for which I haven't found a fix, so far...

Expected results:

The third choice shouldn't have being eliminated.
Can you please explain this a bit more. Which languages and dictionaries are you referring to?

I personally have four languages installed (EN, DE, FR, ES), but the (inline) spell check will only ever use one of them to check.

It would of course be possible to create a custom dictionary that provides the content for two languages at the same time.

There are also add-ons which detect the language and switch the dictionary accordingly.

None of this it part of the "core Thunderbird" functionality and I would therefore suggest to close this bug as invalid.

I am using English and Greek languages and dictionaries. In past versions of Thunderbird, I had a choice of dictionaries and related spell checkers to use: EN, EL, EN/EL. With my present version, 31.2.0, I have only the first two choices, which I have to select manually each time.

I would be very much interested in "add-ons which detect the language and switch the dictionary accordingly". Do you have any suggestions?

As I said, I'm not aware of a "dual language" capability. Please attach screenshots of the spell-checking menu and the installed dictionaries (Tools > Add-ons, Dictionaries).

I've just installed https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/english-greek-spelling-diction/ and got "English & Greek". I think you're missing the "combined" dictionary.

As for the add-on to detect the language and switch the dictionary: I tried "Markov Dictionary Switcher" but it never worked for me.

Please refrain from private messages and please keep in mind that this is bug tracker and not a support forum.
@Reporter: Please resolve the bug if you're happy with the outcome. Otherwise I will close it in the next few days.
