Steps to reproduce:

keeps crashing when i close and reopen and when i restart Firefox in safe mode


Actual results:

crashing when i close and reopen and when i restart Firefox in safe mode


Expected results:

open Firefox without crashing
crashes when i open Firefox then restart Firefox 
crashes after i restart Firefox
Severity: normal → critical

What happens if you disable all your extensions and try it again ?
restarted Firefox in safe mode with all addons disabled still crashes
Do you use avast on your system ?
Nothing is blocking Firefox or any component of Firefox
that doesn't answer my question....
When i close Firefox it stays in memory for a few seconds then crashes has to be a misconfiguration in Firefox crashes even when i am booted in safe mode any button that closes Firefox, Firefox responds to the closing of Firefox as if i told it to crash after a few seconds
booted in safe mode to disable all start up programs including antivirus software

Have Comodo internet security free but it is not configured to cause a conflict with Firefox or any component that Firefox is using and Firefox still crashes when comodo internet security free is not running
Is your Comodo internet security scanning https traffic ?
That would be fixed by bug 1079312, can you please try a nightly build http://nightly.mozilla.org/ ?
