Sometimes, when I scroll content on a page, I get a black area that disappears in a few seconds (maybe 2 or 3 sec). I think I scroll using the two-finger gesture on my touchpad; although, it is possible that the problem appears when I scroll using other methods too. The problem has happened on various websites. I am attaching a screenshot. Maybe this is related to bug 1036728.

What version of Firefox is this? If it's Nightly, any chance you can use mozregression to narrow down when this started happening? And could you please post the contents of about:support's graphics section? Thanks!

It IS Nightly, and I've experienced the problems for quite a long time. For now, I will just post the graphics section's content: Adapter Description AMD Radeon HD 7640G Adapter Drivers aticfx64 aticfx64 aticfx64 aticfx32 aticfx32 aticfx32 atiumd64 atidxx64 atidxx64 atiumdag atidxx32 atidxx32 atiumdva atiumd6a atitmm64 Adapter RAM 512 Device ID 0x9903 Direct2D Enabled Blocked for your graphics driver version. Does this still happen for you? If it is, can you please determine the regression range?

Once firefox hits 1,000,000K memory usage, black areas start appearing all over the UI. Eventually, this happens to the content area and turns it completely black. At which point, I have to restart firefox.

(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk, NI for questions) from comment #3) > Does this still happen for you? > If it is, can you please determine the regression range? (guessing Roman no longer sees this)

We are probablu hitting the limit of the image cache, especially if there are animated images involved, because of the bug 686905. If this wasn't windows, I would have asked if these are bad tiles, but we don't tile on Windows.
