1113215 - Thunderbird will not download mail after 31.3.0 update (except gMail). "Connected to Server" and password entered but no new mail.

Steps to reproduce:

Applied 31.3.0 update


Actual results:

Only mail from gMail will download. When attempting to download mail from 4 other accounts, message at bottom of window says connected to server, but nothing happens. After 2-3 minutes the Master Password dialog will display. After entering the password, the "Connected to Server" message disappears and no mail is downloaded. I have disabled all extensions and reset my master password. No success.


Expected results:

Thunderbird should be responding exactly as it did before the update.

Possibly problems with the server certificates? (E.g. SSL 3 is no longer allowed.)

The server certificates have not changed. I have the option to use SSL or TLS encryption. With 31.3.0, the only fix I have found is to completely remove all encryption settings. I have uninstalled 31.3.0 and reinstalled 31.0 so I have the option of some encryption.
