This is feedback that came out of a session on contributing to Mozilla that was run by April Morone. Some potential contributors find the "Developer Guide" to be "too technical" for their level of knowledge. It may be that these potential contributors are not experienced enough to understand the information as it is currently presented. One way to address this issue is to make painfully explicit what prerequisite knowledge is needed to execute the instructions. We can link to external resources for learning about the prerequisite knowledge. For example: In order to install a build system for Mozilla on your Windows computer, you need to be familiar with: * Installing downloaded software on your computer. * Opening a command prompt and running commands by typing them. This bug can be a place to collect more specific feedback about what aspects of the guide are difficult for beginners in what ways.

The MDN team is no longer actively working on Mozilla Platform docs. Volunteer contributions are welcome.
