Recently my history search has stopped working in Firefox. I don't have too much to go on, but I'm opening this bug to hope that someone can help me investigate this, and point me to how I could collect the necessary logs to help debug this.

I'm noticing the following:
1 - No history results are displayed after visiting a site, and searching for that site in the location bar.
2 - Bookmarks *are* searched and displayed.
3 - This happens in both Firefox release and Nightly with the same profile.
4 - History items *are* showing up when I click History -> Show All History

I am fairly certain that this is a problem with my profile, as it works with opening a new profile in Firefox. I think that all of my preferences are correct and the issue persists after resetting my profile.

Is no history entry being shown at all, or are old history entries being searched while only new visits are not added?

Could you attach an about:support log?

Finally, after doing a backup of the profile (or at least of places.sqlite), please try a deep check with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/

Thank you for the information to debug this issue. I'm going to close this bug for now as I've been informed that my use-case of switching between production and release channels is not supported unfortunately. I'm going to try to stick to one release, and if I see this again I will re-open it.
