Details

mozilla v 0.9.6 buildID: 2001112009

pages mail.yahoo.com, www.amazon.com, thinkgeek.com, linux.com and some others.

mozilla will pop a message saying "connection refused by server"
i thought it was because i only allow cookies from the originating server, but
when i changed to allow all cookies it was the same story. in all the cases i
was trying to log-in into my accounts in those pages.
Reporter: Have you installed PSM?
yes, it has nowhitng to do with PSM (assuming you mean ssl, and stuff like
that) i have a full installation in Linux RH 7.2 and Win2K
How did you install on rh7.2? via the RPMS?

does https://www.verisign.com work for you?
in rh 7.2, i downloaded the tar.gz and installed from there.

as for the verisign... nop, it doesn't work... do i need to install anything?
if so, what?

thx
PSM is what you need for ssl and https:// urls
I have yet to find a site which does NOT refuse my connection. I am using
Mozilla 0.9.6 on Windows 2K. Even mozilla.org refuses it.

0.9.5 is absoluely fine. No problem at all. I do have 0.9.5 AND 0.9.6 installed
to different directories on the same computer using the talback-enabled zip file.
are you using the same profile with the 2 versions?

ok, i think i've found it, i even loggin this in mozilla. it's the proxy. in the
office we have proxi and i can't connect anywhere, not at home i disable it and
presto here we are, i loged into yahoo, mamazon and other ssl enabled site...

not the question is why with a proxy it won't work.
I've tested with a completely new profile, and I still have the same problem.
I'm on a dial-up ADSL service using an Alcatel USB modem (BT OpenWorld in the
UK) which may have some weird proxy stuff associated with it. I've noticed
problems with DCC in IRC for example. So it may be related to that.
uri: Have you filled in the relevant proxy URL/ports under
preferences/advanced/proxies?
(There is a separate field also for SSL proxy there.)
yes, i filled all the fields in proxy, including ssl. if i connect thru dial-in
and without proxy then there is no problem. now, the minute i connect to the
LAN and use proxy then it'll stop working
Reporter:
Does it work if you change Http: 1.1 to Http1.0 in edit\preferences\debug\Networking
Do you use a Network with IPV6 ? Can you try it again with a recent nightly
build (contains a DNS/IPV6 bugfix) ?
