Bug 1075573 is an intermittent test failure in test_videocontrols_standalone.html, affecting Android only. That test checks to see if the test video is paused when the test starts; if it is paused, it waits for a play event. On Android, the test passes if the video is initially not paused; the test always fails if the video is initially paused -- the video never plays. This has led to speculation that autoplay is not working reliably on Android.

This is that bug. :)
With bug 988253 we no longer auto play by default. No idea if it's related. Just wanted you to be aware.
I didn't effectively identify the issue here, and there's been lots of changes since then.
