As part of upgrading Review Board last week, we restarted the HTTP servers and noticed that client-sent auth credentials were honored on one host but not two. Configuring the clients to use both memcached servers instead of 1 and wiping caches and sessions in the database seemed to clear things up. We need to figure out exactly what role memcached has in user auth and overall site operation and ascertain whether it is a continued requirement to have the web/app servers configured to use all memcached servers.
