This would not have been done by Thunderbird. YOu can do View | Message Source (or ctrl+U) to look at the messages headers and probably get some idea about what caused this.

Problem solved. AVG Internet Security 2015.0.5646 Anti-Spam Version 7.0.1 was flagging e-mails from my e-mail account as SPAM. See below: X-AVG-Antispam-Info: 91,0,0,,d41d8cd98f00b204,mhagan@telus.net, pathagan@telus.net,RULES_HIT,0, RBL:209.121.55.170:@telus.net:pathagan@telus.net.lbl8.mailshell.net-64.201.201.201 62.16.55.191, CacheIP:none,Bayesian:0.5,0.5,0.5,Netcheck:none,DomainCache:0,MSF:not bulk, SPF:fu,MSBL:0,DNSBL:neutral, Custom_rules:0:0:0 I don't know why they are rated as 91. AVG maximum is 90. I have disabled AVG SPAM checking.
