If I print a page containing an <hr>, the <hr> comes out very light. I'm using a Compaq IJ300 with black ink only.

I think it is a problem of printing backgrounds. Backgrounds colors and background figures are not printed (maybe if the corresponding tag is empty). This problem also occurs in table cells. Unfortunately I have not found any printing option at Mozilla or a special CSS property.

Matt, do you have a Windows setup and printer you can test with?

Matt tested this for me. Thanks! The <hr> is visible, regardless of the "background" setting :) The bottom line comes out a bit faint on our printer, so the 3d effect is subtle, but that doesn't seem like a problem.
