We've tested the Apple Software Driver on a machine that doesn't have any accelerated device and it seems to be usable. It's also what Chrome and Safari uses. Right now Basic on mac is only a very small fraction of our users and is typically on old machines (ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 from 2006), 10.6.0-10.6.2, safe mode or VMs. The apple software drivers appear to work fine on the machine we tested.

Making this change, with WARP, means that we could continue to push to reduce our code paths.
