Did you install using the insller (*.exe) builds of the ziped build?  Try this one:
  http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/mozilla-win32-installer.exe
It should work fine.

Maybe I misunderstood your report.  Aer both entries in the Add/Remove Programs
list?  If so, did you uninstall the old version before installing the new one?

i installed from installer-sea.exe.

yes, i uninstalled before.
no, there is only one entry in add/remove programs.
with the wrong version number.

i'll deinstall this build tomorrow (i hate 2001120504 anyway, it crashes), check
the registry for emptiness, and install the next (hopefully better) build.

(argh, i said 2001-11-05-04, i meant 2001-12-05-04)
