So, one thing I think Github does nicely is populate their footer with 'ProTips'. A simple one line power-user tip, each time you navigate to a Github issue, pr, or similar page. I think we have enough Treeherder features, particularly shortcuts and other workflows, we could do the same with a ProTip centered in the middle of the get-next footer. Granted users would see them only when they navigate to the footer area, but it would allow discovery during general use. Maybe there are better ideas for presenting tips and tricks, but Github's approach is nice, since it is passive and does not interrupt workflow.

I think if our interface was simpler this would be a good addition. Unfortunately as-is, it's pretty cluttered, so I worry that adding this would just make that worse. I think any of the following may be a better approach: * additions to the help menu/keyboard shortcuts overlay * a advanced vs beginner mode that adjusts the UI * a first run experience for both beginner and advanced modes that does a little tour with overlays etc * bug 1141569
