Hello,

There are two parts with this project: Web content on Verbatim and Video content on Amara (audio scripts for videos).

*Source file for web content*:
You have the option of working directly in github or Verbatim
1). https://localize.mozilla.org/projects/masterfirefoxos/
- localize, update, review all the strings
- Click VCS to Commit when done with each batch of localization. This way the codes get pushed to github.
2). https://github.com/mozilla/masterfirefoxos-l10n/blob/master/es/LC_MESSAGES/django.po

* Video content*:
We plan to use voice over for the videos instead of subtitles. We will download the script once they are localized and approved before recording:

http://amara.org/en/videos/FTGkAw3Bm2w1/info/masterfirefoxoscom-firefox-browser/

We need the site ready to go live by mid April
Hi,

First of all, I've taken a look at the strings, and chances we meet the deadline are very low. We have far more critical l10n projects that need to be done during this timeframe (Firefox OS 2.2 string-freeze, Spring Release with iOS l10n/Firefox reader mode, mozilla.org content update, Firefox whatsnew page, snippets, etc.)

I'll reach out to the French-speaking community to involve as many people as possible, and we'll see how it goes, but clearly, deadlines for such projects should take into account current l10n workload, “l10n volunteer resources”, and priority of the project.

We will first focus on video scripts so that it doesn't block voice over schedule.

On a personal side note, I won't be able to contribute too much to this project before mid-April because of my studies.
thanks a lot Théo !
any help from anyone is sorely needed...
Thank you for getting this started. I have seen some activities for the web content localization. As Natalia mentioned in the email, this is a high priority language and several launches in the coming months will depend on it.

I also want to point out that the video portion usually takes a long time to complete. If there are more than one person working on the project, may be one of you can work on the video script. This needs to be finalized (reviewed and signed off) by the community before we start recording the audio part. The web and video content can be worked on simultaneously.

Thanks again.

Actually our workflow already allows anyone to contribute to both at the same time: the video translation is done on an Etherpad. I've sent out a follow up to the mozfr ML to emphasize once more that our priority were the videos. If I can find the time this week, I'll help on the video translations.
French subtitles are now available on Amara for the 5 videos.
wow, impressive, let me know if the script is approved, so I can have Delphine or someone local to record it. We don't want to make any changes after the recording. Thanks!
Jean-Bernard, if you have the opportunity to proof-read the subtitles, that would be great.
I've made very small tweaks from the version on the Etherpad. If it's ok for you (or other French localizers), we will record it.

Delphine, you can also give your opinion :)

Also is the web content completed? there are two tracks of this project, web and video. The latter takes a few more steps before it is truly done.

Théo,
I just reviewed the fr subtitles in Amara this very morning and found everything comes nicely. Well done.

Thank you Goofy for the confirmation. We will proceed with the next step.

Translation of masterfirefoxos is now complete! https://localize.mozilla.org/fr/masterfirefoxos/
We might still push fixes over the next few days (regular QA), but the translation is done.

Btw, thank you for the review of the subtitles, Jean-Bernard.
Finished recording, now editing.
Hi,

just checking in, I know there was a loca sprint last week-end, wonder when the site might be available in French, please let me know, thanks !
Hi,

It's been localized for a week, please see Comment 12. You can take a look at the French localization on the staging server: https://l10n.masterfirefoxos.com/fr/2-0/

If you are referring to the production server, we (localizers) are definitely not the right people to ask. You should file a bug under the right component and cc developers and/or Project Manager.
We can push the web content part live today. The video portion was done with recording. Will check with Spencer to see if it can be ready today for production push. We are very close to being done on this.
