It would be nice if the option to "finger" a persons email account would be
available in the sidebar and somewhere in the addressbook itself.

It would actually be very simple to implement. Just open a new window, take the
email address, and tack the finger protocol onto it like this:

finger:johnc@idsoftware.com

And mozilla will do the rest.

something like

javascript:Qr=document.getSelection();if(!Qr){void(Qr=prompt('Finger:',''))}if(Qr)location.href='finger:'+Qr+'
'

What server supports finger anyway ?
Nifty idea, but not useful on 99% of e-mail addresses, unfortunately. And not
understood by enough users. I'd love to see it personally, but overall it's
probably not going to help our UI.
mass re-assign.

Given this day and age, this is extension fodder at best.
