Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.0
Build ID: 20150305021524

Steps to reproduce:

Start first Firefox and log into e.h. eBay. Launch second copy of Firefox with either a shortcut or start menu (not a tab in the first copy).

Actual results:

Second copy ALMOST always comes up with black screen. If, however, you first start a second tab in the first session using the "+", and THEN launch a second Firefox using the shortcut, it starts correctly. Safemode startup does not fix the problem.

Expected results:

Second Firefox should launch with startup screen.
Environment: Win 7 SP1 fully updated 64-bit, Dell 760 Core2 Duo E7400 @ 2.8GHz with 4GB RAM Intel Q45/Q43 Chipxet graphics.
Appears to be fixed with 36.0.3
I doubt 36.0.3 fixed this kind of issue, it was a security update.

If you meet this issue again, try:
1) with HWA disabled: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/forum-response-disable-hardware-acceleration
2) with a clean profile: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

In addition, type about:support in the location bar and paste the section "graphics".

Feel free to reopen this bug report if the issue is back.
