RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1009728

People

(Reporter: adamvever, Unassigned)

Details

(Keywords: uiwanted, Whiteboard: [wontfix?])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.0
Build ID: 20150305021524

Steps to reproduce:

I wanted to close tabs to the left.

Actual results:

It wasn't there.

Expected results:

It was there before. The only problem was, it never asked for confirmation and just closed tabs straight away, even though close tabs to the right closes the tabs only after confirming. I actually use Close tabs to the left more often than close tabs to the right, since I don't want to look into the Past much, I am more fond of the Future! :-)

This cannot be fixed with an extension in Quantum. Please consider implementing.

Can this now be revisited now that the other options are contained within a Close Multiple Tabs sub-menu?

Just had the very same thought...

As useful as the additional sub-menu may be (personally I find it horrid, as the "close tabs" menu entries are geared towards improving efficiency and now they're moved one level deeper having the exact opposite effect), it makes it only logical to add "Close tabs to the left", because
a) it won't clutter the top level menu anymore anyway and
b) a sub-menu for only two entries is hardly reasonable

Earlier bug requesting the same thing: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1009728

I went ahead and created a patch implementing this functionality: https://phabricator.services.mozilla.com/D104317

Let's hope it will be accepted...
