I think we should disregard the issues about "pip" and just  focus on the last assertion error.

I tried to repro the issue locally on b2gdesktop: Not a single failure in 50 tries. We're planning to turn off this python test on b2g desktop because an equivalent already exists in Gij[1]. This will be a part of bug 1146997 (the bug for this particular test hasn't been filed yet).

If treeherder starts to report a lot of intermittent failures, I propose to take a deeper look at it. If not, I think we'll end up wontfixing this bug.
