Steps to reproduce:

- install any addon, eg Greasemonkey (optionally install a userscript, also)
- open the Network Monitor
- open about:addons, and press the cogwheel dropdown button>Check for updates
- repeat the previous step with both "enable chrome and add-on debugging" and "enable remote debugging" option enabled


Actual results:

No network requests are displayed

They should be displayed
Component: Untriaged → Developer Tools: Netmonitor
To view browser level activity, such as add-on updates, you should use the Browser Toolbox[1].

I just confirmed add-on update requests do appear there.
