As part of bug 1147212, we are implementing a new type of interstitial page when users visit a page that's in Google's "potentially unwanted software" list.

This is what the browser warning looks like in Chrome:

  http://googleonlinesecurity.blogspot.com.au/2015/03/even-more-unwanted-software-protection.html

It would be great to have our own test page in the same style as its-an-attack.html and its-a-trap.html.

Matej, are you the right person to ask for a review of the copy I came up with in the above pull request?

It's not something that a lot of users will see because the whole point of the feature is to prevent that test page from being displayed in Firefox, just like this pages when you have Phishing Protection turned on:

I'm definitely the right person, but my GitHub skills leave a lot to be desired. Would it be possible to put the strings you need to review in a gdoc, etherpad or even just a comment in this bug? That would help me a lot.

Also, a big +1 to redesigning these pages. If nothing else, we should update tabzilla and the download button, but pretty much everything about them is very out of date.

Attached file its-unwanted.html (obsolete) —
Attached is all of the copy I added. The rest of the page is a copy of http://itisatrap.org/firefox/its-an-attack.html (you must click "ignore this warning" to see it).

I've filed a separate bug to redesign all three pages.

Thanks! My edits are below. I felt that this one didn't really fit the same headline format, so I removed the "It's," which didn't sound right. If that has to be there, it could be something like "It's not what you want," but that sounds a little awkward as well. Let me know if you have any questions.

Unwanted!

I’m a naughty web page trying to install software you don’t want!

OK, not really, but some download sites can offer files that install software you probably don’t want on your computer. Such software can be deceptive and affect your system in unexpected ways. It can also be difficult to remove. Firefox provides built-in Phishing and Malware Protection to help you avoid unwanted software. If you are using Firefox 40 or later, you should have been warned to stay away from this page.

(Another thing to note is that "Web" should be capitalized, but I see that it isn't on any of these pages, so I left it. Something we should address when we redesign them.)

Thanks Matej! I've updated the copy in my pull request and I've also updated the two original pages to capitalize Web and to change "warned away" to "warned to stay away":
