Steps to reproduce:

filter trashes unwanted e-mail, but filter log shows first negative filter (i.e., not allow filter) regardless of which filter caught the unwanted e-mail
I do not understand what you mean. Can you rephrase the report? Also, are you really using Thunderbird 3.1? Or did you mean 31?
It is 31.  I have several filters.  The two (2) filters at the top of the list are "allow" filters, the following filters are "deny" filters.  Regardless of which "deny" filter catches a message the filter log reports the filter which catches it to be the first "deny" filter in the list of "deny" filters rather than the actual filter that "denied" the message.

Actually, I upgraded to version 38 to cure last bug
