Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0
Build ID: 20150325203137

Steps to reproduce:

I have been working on an XHTML5 audio player and sometimes I switch between Dolby Digital 5.1 and regular stereo (5.1 doesn't always sound better). Note that the onboard audio I'm using at the moment only allows these two channel modes (I'm testing with regular 44,100 hz). This should be very easily reproducible for anyone with speakers capable of 5.1 digital (I have Realtek, switching via it's control panel program (RAVCpl64.exe) and am using an optical out connection).

Actual results:

I have been able to explicitly confirm that simply changing the number of channels for playback prevents Firefox from playing audio until the browser is restarted.

Additionally closing the window causes Firefox to hang remaining in memory and forcing me to manually kill the process in the task manager.

Expected results:

The audio should still work and Firefox shouldn't hang in memory after I close it's (only open) window.
