For the Firefox 38 final builds and since b7 we see a lot of crashes of the type as handled in bug 1161717. Interestingly this is only happening for localized builds of Firefox. Firefox 39 doesn't seem to be affected.

It's not that clear yet, which test exactly is causing this. But a first check showed me that testMenuQuit.js could be the reason. I will temporarily skip it.
I landed a skip patch only release so far.
The skip patch does not work. It looks like that there are too many variations for this crash to happen.
Looks like this is related to the background thumbnailing process as triggered by about:newtab. Flipping the pref "browser.newtab.url" to about:blank fixes it for us. I will temporarily change that on the release and esr38 branch.

I don't have the time to check that at any time soon. It's more likely that we also mark it as incomplete or wontfix. Reason is also that most of the Mozmill tests have already been turned off.
