I'm confused. I do not see any of the added or removed strings in the L10n dashboard's output for Firefox beta. What's up here?

The strings removed here mostly get added in Firefox 40, but there is only one patch with a translation for Firefox 40 which also contains most of the translation for Firefox 39 (only strings which got again removed in Firefox 40 are missing). So if I transplant http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n/mozilla-aurora/de/rev/aa0f398b7ea1 to beta and push this patch on top of it, these files should be done. Alternative is do create a standalone Firefox 39 translation by copying the relevant strings from that push into a new patch.

Hmm, OK. I'd have an easier time if the diff for review is the actual differences we'll see on the 39 train. I don't care in which way you commit it, though. You can apply both to your beta tree, do a |hg diff -r <rev-before-patches>| and attach the result, and I'll be happy to review that one. :)

Die Änderung ist an sich nicht nötig, noch dazu, weil der String in Zukunft ja eh komplett verschwindet.

Hallo ihr beiden. Ich hänge mich mal wegen eines Bugs in der deutschen Version von Fx 39.0 hier rein. Und zwar sind die Strings language.customize.fallback.* - Einstellungen --> Inhalt --> Erweitert - in Englisch, siehe hier:

Ist das ein Lokalisierungsmangel oder funktioniert hier etwas dazwischen?

Hallo Michael, da Firefox 39 in der Beta-Phase am Ende eine Beta weniger hatte (vermutlich wegen der großem Zusammentreffen aller Mozilla-Mitarbeitet für eine Woche) und ich das nicht wahrgenommen hatte, kam die Übersetzung von Teilen für Firefox 39 zu spät, um mit diesem veröffentlicht zu werden. Da es dann eh zu spät war, habe ich mir Zeit mit dem Überprüfen gelassen und die Texte erst am Wochenende hochgeladen. Aurora (41) sollte die übersetzten Strings schon verwenden, Beta (40) erst, nachdem sie in die Produktion übernommen wurden (vermutlich, nachdem die Strings für Version 40 übersetzt wurden).

Hallo Sebastian, danke für die prompte Antwort. Irgendwie ist mir aber doch, dass diese Strings auch schon in vorangegangenen Versionen enthalten und übersetzt waren. Was hatte sich denn da genau geändert, damit sie neu übersetzt hätten werden müssen?

Früher hieß es "Zeichenkodierung", jetzt "Textkodierung". Mehr Info in bug 951695.

Vermutlich wurde das aus Versehen entfernt, weil die Übersetzung für 39+40 in Teil 1 als ein Patch kam.
