As far as I can see also in Dutch localization quitApplicationCmdUnix.key is set to 'Q', and accel for Mac is the Cmd-key: https://dxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/browser/base/content/browser-sets.inc#450 http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n/mozilla-release/nl/file/75537fe4d5b2/browser/chrome/browser/browser.dtd#l617

This is strange. Now Command-Q works fine. Earlier, I tried Command-Q several times, even after restarting Firefox and making sure Firefox was the active program and it did not work.

Maybe you were seeing bug 78414 where application keys fail to operate when a plug-in has focus?

When it happens again, I'll do some more research.
