While I am making changes in bug 1161492, I realized the tabs seems not necessary in the album(sub-list) view, because, the tabs should only be the navigation of the root views, like mix(tiles) and list views, so I am going to remove the tabs for the sub-list view in bug 1161492, and filing this bug for ux inputs.

As a counter-argument, this does make it harder to switch to another view. That might be a problem for some users.

Yes, we will lose the capability to fast switch view from the sub-list to mix or list views(note that we still have the back button), but that could be something also confusing the user because currently there is no view transition if the user switch from level-one view to root views. Or alternative, we could probably add view transition for switching any view to root views(maybe fade-in-out?), so that the users can understand there are in or back to the root views.

Sorry Dominic, I'm not sure which tabs you are referring to, could you provide a screenshot of the tabs in question? Thank you!

Ah ok, so the question is if they should disappear when you drill down into an album/playlist etc? I would say that having the tabs persistent within the subviews is great for navigation. It removes the need for the user to continuously use the back button to return to the main view, which can become annoying. I would definitely recommend that we maintain the tabs where we can. flagging Hung to advise on the transitions.

Thanks Jacqueline, I am keeping what we have for now(tabs in sub-list view) and will change nothing in bug 1161492.
