1174523 - Compacting Problems - some lost messages and some header information lost

Steps to reproduce:

After compacting folders, there are always some messages missing, usually it happens, that  the sender and subject is missing, while the content is still available! I'm not sure, if there are still other issues, like changing the subject and the content of a mail has been done. 
Version 31.7.0, as well some earlier versions, I'm using Thunderbird since about 2009

Are the messages that are missing in a pop account?
Does this also happen with version 38?
Please backup your thunderbird profile before updating.

version 31.7.0 came out about a month ago. 
For now many months have you seen this behavior?

I cann't remember, it happend since a long time, maybe some years.

Sometimes only the header was empty, but the contents still there
