Does this spec show a help viewer with no left pane for table of contents / index / search? I'm not a good ascii art reader. Is that "A" an index button?

There is no sidebar, the A is supposed to be a house, i.e. home (I blame the ASCII art on mpt ;) once I find the time, I'll slap together something better

Maybe we can co-overhaul the help system? I'd hate to start all over on this. Plus Peter Wilson is working on a very cool update that lets you specify which panels and content appear in RDF/XML. Using his framework, you could get something like what you have shownn. But you could also do the separate search panel, index panel, etc. More soon. cc'ing Peter.

sorry, but I have lost my ability to work on this for the time beeing, reassigning to nobody@mozilla.org and setting helpwanted keyword If I can work on this at a later point, I will take it back then.
Regarding the coach proposal in the spec: It could probably automatically proceed when the current action is performed by attaching eventobservers to the appropriate element. For example attaching a "click" observer to the Edit->Preferences <menuitem>

Resolving as WONTFIX since the person working on this is no longer working on it and the sample interface's web site is no longer available.
