Long press link to "Open in New Window" also passes click and navigates forward in current page

Details

For example, if I'm on the mail article page for thehill.com, and I long-press an article link then tap "open in new window" in the context menu overlay, the new page is openned in a window to the right.

If I swipe left back to the main (thehill.com) page, I wind up navigating forward to the article I long pressed.
