It would be handy to have a client side test to compare the data from sessions with multiple fragments (main pings) to a "saved-session" payload. This test should also cover histograms.

Given that we intend to remove "saved-session" long-term, i'm not sure what we win here over a proper test that triggers multiple session splits and checks some measurements to behave as expected. Should we maybe morph the bug into that or are we expecting any other wins from directly comparing saved-session and main pings?
