Expected results:

Many website pages are designed for a width even when the browser is wider, wasting space on the sides that might be better used for exposing the desktop and other windows. Manually adjusting the browser width with every website or page is usually too tedious.

Proposal: Create a user-selectable feature in which the browser would automatically narrow to the widest page width that doesn't invoke horizontal scrolling and would automatically re-widen to the browser's default width when the page has no fixed width.

Technically, the browser could switch between the preset viewport width to a temporary viewport width (named perhaps viewport-tmp), with the browser width itself following each switch. A user wishing to frequently select different tabs or windows might turn the option off.

Extra options:
--- The user could set a default for whether the temporarily narrowed browser would be centered, left-border-positioned, or right-border-positioned relative to the preset-width position.
--- The browser could sense if switching between tabs (windows) is very frequent and turn the feature off (unless the user opted to have it on anyway).
