"gauging" is NOT missing from the en-US dictionary. https://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/extensions/spellcheck/locales/en-US/hunspell/en-US.dic?rev=577aa0730936&mark=30462#30462 the word "gauging" is not underlined red.

You are right. This appears to be an issue that is Iceweasel specific as switching to Nightly fixes it. Even installing: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/united-states-english-spellche/ does not remedy it. Resolving invalid, but needinfo?ing glandium to see what's up with the Debian packages from http://mozilla.debian.net/

Please file a Debian bug against the hunspell-en-us package, which appears to be outdated: the package uses data from august 2007 while our data is from november of the same year.

Filed https://bugs.debian.org/795159 which was closed shortly after claiming you're wrong. Is there some way to get the mozilla.debian.net builds to use our dictionary?
