Does it happen if you start Thunderbird in safe mode?
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode
Yes it did continue in the same manner in safe mode.
What if you enable hardware acceleration at options | advanced | general and restart Thunderbird?
Hardware acceleration is enabled.
Are we any closer to resolving this issue?
Any status update?
Is no one going to resolve this issue? It is still happening in the latest version 38.3

A response would be appreciated.

And if you _disable_ it?

no one else is reporting seeing it
I don't see how. I keep reverting back to version 38.1 which is that last version that the screen does not jitter (like you are looking at it thru water) using. It is not just this computer. This condition is on every PC that I use. This condition also appears on customers PC's. I have disabled the automatic updates on all of my customers PC's because of this issue. So when you say no one else is reporting this, does not mean it is not happening to others. My customers call me for support, however, this is clearly not something I am able to fix. Thus, I am reporting it to Mozilla. I don't think you want every one of my customers filing the same report. That would be ridiculous.
you state the obvious, which does not contradict what I wrote.

What happens if you _disable_ acceleration? (which should be your default if you also tested a version 38.3.0)

If it still happens, please post what is shown in help | Troubleshooting

Whiteboard: [regession:TB38.2.0]
It still jitters/shakes when scrolling in a message window. Hardware acceleration is not enabled. (NO check mark) Below is the information you requested.

Please create a new profile and test with one imap account, with both HW acceleration on and off.
Please see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-multiple-profiles

If it still fails, please try the beta from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/
It should install into it's own Thunderbird directory.
Test Results:

Created new profile: - Test with HW acceleration ON & OFF, no change. Produced same results.

Downloaded Beta: - Used same NEW profile created. Page displayed correctly. Version 42.0

Now the question, when will this version be released to the stable channel, so I may utilize add-ons?

Thanks, JP
Thanks for testing. Can you attach a screen shot of this condition to the bug report?

> Downloaded Beta: - Used same NEW profile created. Page displayed correctly.
> Version 42.0
> Now the question, when will this version be released to the stable channel,
42 doesn't become production until it evolves to 45, which then releases in March

However if the precise cause is identified and the problem severe for enough users then it might be made available in version 38. But that cannot happen until we know which patch caused the problem. I found nothing in the 38.2.0 checkins http://mzl.la/1J9aZyD that is overly suspicious. Though maybe bug 1105807

> so I may utilize add-ons?
Which addons fail?
I have enabled addons and they appear to be working satisfactorily.

I originally had them disabled to test the beta release.

One thing I did notice is the "Remote Content" feature seems to still prompt with the "Options" box when there is none to add to the exceptions list, other than the actual email address.
