User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0
Build ID: 20150826023504

Steps to reproduce:

OS: Fedora 22
Shell: GNOME 3.16.3
Firefox versions: 40

1. Go to about:config in firefox and set value of layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to 2
2. Enable gnome hidpi scaling, using the command: gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor 2
2. Go to a site with flash based videos, such as www.ndtv.com/video/live/channel/ndtv24x7
3. Play a video in default screen size (not in full screen mode)

Actual results:

1. video keeps blinking and is not continuous
2. clicking on the pause, play button causes rendering artifacts to show up

Expected results:

1. properly rendered video

I am unable to reproduce. Are you still able to reproduce the issue using the latest Firefox/Nightly version ?

Sounds like this is a plugin rendering issue, rather than a problem with the video element.
