Details

Note: This is a follow-up bug for Bug 1067788 Comment 47

Reproducible on: Firefox 43.0a1 and Firefox 42.0a2 across all platforms

STR
1.Launch Firefox with clean profile.
2.Navigate to about:home
3.Copy and paste the following letters in the Start Page search-bar: אבגabc
4.Right click and open the Context menu.

ER
The context menu should show an option for switching the text directionality, just like in RTL builds: http://i.imgur.com/i2TcaXv.jpg

AR
There is no option for switching the text directionality in LTR builds.
The RTL characters are reversed with LTR characters and the word is displayed as in a RTL build when the bidi text is pasted in the Start Page search-bar: http://i.imgur.com/bDPIL1F.jpg

Additional notes:
- This issue is reproducible on Firefox 43.0a1 (2015-09-16) and Firefox 42.0a2 (2015-09-16) under Windows 7 64-bit, Ubuntu 14.04 32-bit and Mac OS X 10.10.4.
- This issue is also reproducible for New Tab search-bar.
- The bidi text is displayed from left-to-right in location bar and search bar (near location bar)
- This behaviour does not occur in a right-to-left build, where “ אבגabc “ word is placed from right to left in all 4 cases.
