User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0 Build ID: 20150826023504 Steps to reproduce: The message that remote content (r.c) has been blocked does not come up even when messages obviuosly have had r.c. blocked Actual results: I can therefore not reveal r.c. since the option to do so is not provided. Expected results: I have blocked r.c. and would expect to have the options menu on the occasions when it is blocked so that I have the opportunity to reveal r.c.for those messages when I believe it is ok.

Does it also happen in safe mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode
Flags: needinfo?(revaltoo)
Summary: I am not getting the warning that remote content has been blocked; I am therefore unable to select the function allowing me to enable remote content for those that I want to see the remote content → remote content warning is missing, so I can't enable remote content for messages

Also, an attached sample message would be useful - "Add an attachment"

I am not getting any messages - the emails have blocked sections - so I am assuming that it is not picking up / or not reporting that the message has had details blocked. In previous releases a dropdown menu was available from which I selected the first option (sorry cannot remember what it was tagged as) which allowed the email to receive remote data such as pictures, tables, etc. Since the new release I cannot locate the dropdown menu so cannot get access to the full email unless there is within the eMAIL a link to read it in my browser.

Safe mode did not offer any more information and the tag to click on was not visible either so I still have no direct access to the drop-down menu to reveal - will send email (if I can) with screen clip

> I am not getting any messages
I don't understand this part of your statement, given that you have screen shots.
Regardless, aceman has suggested ...
Maybe he has all remote content allowed in Preferences (in which case
maybe the bar is not show at all?), but this email has non-working
links/images? Or the host is currently not accessible or his firewall is
blocking it?

Sorry, I have made this far from clear - I should have said that I am not getting the remote content notification bar to enable me to select "Show remote content in this message". I have had 'allow all r.c.' set in the preferences. Have since un-ticked that, but still have not been able to get the remote content notification bar. I will check the other two 'aceman' suggestions and report back. I do appreciate your patience and I acknowledge that I am learning a lot about this aspect of the software for which many thanks. Bear with me…

I have found out what I had done to lose the option to allow me to obtain the remote content notification bar. I had the wrong selection for viewing a message. I have rectified this by selecting View - then 'Message body as' then 'original HTML' When I now double click the message header on the main screen the r.c. notification bar is presented. Sorry for all the hassle I may have caused - I guess I must have inadvertently changed the setting on message view. Thanks again
