Registering to the 'newtab-url-changed' is potentially dangerous as add-ons could lock their preferred newtab url or even fight with each other if more than one add-on uses this observer to revert a changed newtab url. Warning: "Extensions must not use the 'newtab-url-changed' event to revert changes made to the new tab url." Description: "To avoid conflicts, extensions are not allowed to add an observer to the 'newtab-url-changed' event in order to revert changes that have been made to the new tab url." Signing Severity: "high" Signing help: "Add-ons which use 'newtab-url-changed' to change the new tab url are not allowed."
