i've been testing how the download progress dialog appears, and came up with a
test outline [below]. depending on the situation, the layout seems inconsistent.

tested using 2002.01.25.08 comm verif bits on linux rh7.2 [will test other
platforms later].

bill and/or ben, would you let me know if what i find here should be filed as
separate bugs? what i'm going to do is attach the resulting screenshots that
describe the results of each scenario.

test scenarios:

1. view a plaintext page, save as text [that's the only filter].
2. view a web page with image/etc content [like http://www.mozilla.org/], save
as text.
3. like 2, but save as html only.
4. like 2, but save as complete.
5. view a simple web page, with no external content, save as text.
6. like 5, but save as html only.
7. like 5, but save as complete.
8. view http directory listing, save as text.
9. like 8, but save as html only.
10. like 8, but save as complete.
11. view ftp listing, do save as [only have one choice of All].

this is the result for case (1). everything appears fine, except:

* "Time Left" just says "Unknown"

is this expected?

this screenshot represents the results for cases (2) and (5). things look fine
except:

* the "Status" is empty [blank]
* the progress bar is also empty [unpainted]
* the % is missing at the end of the progress bar.

this screenshot represents the results for cases (3), (4), (6) and (10). this
is what i would refer to as the "normal", or expected appearance for the
download progress dialog. sound reasonable?

except for one problem:

* the % at the end of the progress bar is missing.

the results for case (8) are the same as for (2) and (5) --see attachment 66548 [details].

You are right.  The one you say is correct is correct, and the others are all
broken.

I think this is due to events slipping through the cracks in certain situations.
 I'm trying to plug all those holes whilst fixing this dialog per bug 27609 (and
all the bugs blocked by that bug).

Spam: Setting target milestone for all these to Future.

Please note that most, if not all, will be fixed in the course of the work I'm 
doing for bug 27609.  That fact is noted in the "depends on" field for each of 
these bugs (I think; go ahead and remedy that if you like).

I just don't have time to deal with the wrath that comes with having too many 
bugs.

rs vrfy --there are still display issues here, but other bugs have been filed
for them.
