[Steps]
- put your phone in English
- start sms
- start contact
- put your phone in Arabic
- observe contact
- observe sms

[expected]
both are translated and change direction

[actual]
Only contact is translated and change direction
Apparently starting the app in arabic is enough to test.

Prevents the localization of the sms app. 
Actually break a lot of javascript ("new message" and "option" button in the inbox view don't work any more, clicking on a thread have no effect)

Do you see the issue on today's Gecko build, I guess "let" is enabled by default without "version=1.8 " only on the very recent builds. IIRC there was a email about it in dev-fxos.
