My development efforts w/ Redshift (as described in bug 1218970) have been successful, so we'll soon be ready to start sending derived streams from the Push log processing into a production database. For initial requirements a single node cluster should be sufficient.
I've sent out a meeting invite to discuss how this will work.

the redshift clusters are created, and you will be able to reach them over vpn when the dependent bug is complete. The db hasn't yet been initialized in any way, and I'll do that as part of deploying the hosts that load data into redshift.
