I have a very large addressbook, and when I scroll it, I often miss the feature
to be able to press a key (say 's'), and have the addresspane scroll to the
first row in the sorted column that has an initial 's'.
Comm Trunk build 2002-01-25-03: WinMe
This build has a "Quick" Search text box which performs the function you are
describing.
Not really.

When I press 'p', and I sort by Name, I expect someone with the name "Pierre" to
become _selected_ (or whoever the first person on P is).

Do you see the difference?
Using Comm 4.x after typing 'p' it scrolls to that area of the list and
highlights a 'p' entry with a dashed box. I can see the different now.
