Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/46.0.2490.80 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

- Install old Firefox beta version (e.g. 42.0b9)
- Open FF and install non-signed extension (e.g. Hola Unblocker - https://cdn4.hola.org/static/hola_firefox_ext_1.10.574_www.xpi)
- Go to Help->About Firefox and trigger the auto update to the latest (e.g. 43.0b7).

Actual results:

- After restart the extension is marked as "xxx could not be verified for use in Firefox and has been disabled"
- If you manually check for updates, the extension updates to a signed version and is enabled once again.

Expected results:

- After restart FF should automatically check for updated extension versions and update the extension by itself.
Component: Untriaged → Add-ons Manager
Product: Firefox → Toolkit
We check for updates once a day. Assuming the user has run the older Firefox for at least a day this won't be a problem so we have no plans to check any faster.
